Service is limited to what fits into the container. Lids must touch plastic to plastic otherwise you are charged for extras. Anything placed next to your containers will be picked up and charged to your account as extras.
Please do not place anything next to your containers that you do not want removed. If you would like more than 4 extra bags of refuse collected, please contact our office via our Contact Us page.

Commodity Credit Change FAQ
▸
Did you notice a change in your statement? Your Refuse and Recycling charge has not changed. What has changed is the value of the recyclable material.
Why does this change? Every year in January, the commodity value is adjusted to reflect the previous 12 months actual proceeds. The annual value fluctuates with the world economy and values change from year to year.
What is the Commodity Credit? Commodity credit is created through the sales of the recyclable material collected in your service area. The revenue generated is returned to Thurston County Customers as an off set to the cost of collection.
How is the credit determined? Credits are calculated annually by taking the total commodity value received from customers in the previous 12-month period and dividing by the number of recycling customers. This produces an average recycling value per customer. Please look at the “Recyclables Value” on your statement. This credit rewards customer for their recycling efforts and reduces your overall bill relative to actual market value.
All charges on your statement have been approved by the Washington State Utility and Transportation Commission
